It's been a surprisingly busy summer and early fall.

A couple of highlights include Caton Castle with Paul Carr saluting Coltrane and Hartman; The Post-Classical Ensemble at the Klein Theatre with Lena Seikaly, Chuck Redd, et al.; and Keystone Korner with the Thad Wilson Jazz Orchestra and Alison Crocket saluting Billy Eckstine & Sarah Vaughan. As a delightful consequence, I've picked up some terrific material in the process, and I'm planning to include some of it in the presentation at Westminster on Oct. 16. And I've got a terrific quartet to help me deliver it:

Michael Thompson (piano)

Wes Biles (upright bass)

Chuck Redd (drums)

Paul Carr (saxophones)

Westminster is quite possibly the best value in town for live jazz in a concert setting. Join us for some beloved favorites, a few fresh discoveries, and a surprise or two. Hope to see ya!
